What Are Trip Invitations?
Trip Invitations are Scenic’s way of making sure your adventures don’t stay solo (unless you want them to!). When you’re planning a route or joining one, you can send out invitations to your Travel People (your inner circle on Scenic). You can also cast a wider net and invite the community on your journey; you set the date, discoverability radius, and users in your vicinity will discover your route.
Here’s where it gets fun: you’re not limited to just people who already use the app. Maybe your best friend hasn’t signed up yet, or you want to convince your cousin who lives across the country to join your road trip. With Scenic’s invite system, you can now send off-app invitations directly to someone’s phone number or email. They’ll get a link to join your trip, and Scenic, in just a couple of taps.
How to Use Trip Invitations
Sending a Trip Invitation is easy:
- Plan → When you’re creating a route, you’ll see the Team tab that will allow inviting of users on or off the app. Pick from your Travel People list or enter an email/phone number to invite someone new. When the team is selected, just click “Schedule” and your team will receive the trip invite.
- Send it off → Scenic will automatically generate a friendly invite with a link to your trip, which your team can find in Notifications.
- Join a trip → When you discover a route on the home or discovery screens, at the bottom of the route details page, you’ll find the “Request to Join’ button. The creator can then accept or reject your request.
Once your friend accepts, they’ll appear in your team view, ready to chat, coordinate, and share moments along the route. If they’re new to Scenic, the invite also doubles as a fast-track signup, so they can go from receiving the link to being part of the adventure in no time.
Trip Invitations make team travel smoother and more spontaneous. Whether you’re inviting your existing crew or recruiting new adventurers from outside the app, Scenic gives you the tools to connect, plan, and roll out together.
